Norm’s Auction Service has provided quality service to the community for over 50 years. The life long dream of Norm Dickensheets to be an auctioneer became a reality, and in 1961 with the support of his wife Rada started the business at 10 Westminster Ave, Hanover, PA. With the assistance of their 5 children Gary, Phil, Donna, Ray and Randy the business thrived and in 1974 Crawford’s Auction Service at our current location of 4430 Hanover Road was bought. Norm and Rada decided to move the entire business to Hanover road in 1975. There was plenty of room for expansion and a large parking lot. In 1982 the auction service was bought by Phil and Louise Dickensheets with the blessing of Norm and Rada, who continued to play a huge part in the business.

Unfortunately Norm died in 1995 but his tradition of honesty and friendliness continues to be a steadfast commitment of our auction service. What happened to the business in 1996 when Phil and Louise divorced? We did the natural thing and formed a partnership. With Phil being an excellent Auctioneer and Louise being an accountant it only made sense. Phil married Bonnie in 1997 and Bonnie is the display manager of the small antiques and glassware. Louise married Gene Kopp in 1998 and Gene is our Maintenance manager and YES we all get along and are good friends.

Norm’s Auction Service has always been a family oriented business.
